Please note I had only being playing for abou 4 years when I compiled this CD, and composing for about 1. Most people find Loss is their favorite. This isn't too surprising, given that it must have been something special to have motivated me to write in the first place. I must apologise for the poor quality of recording. This was done at without an amplifier between the microphone and the computer (very bad), so it sounds like a 1950's recording. The playing quality is lower than expected, due to the fact that I recorded this straight after returning from a one month holiday.

Brief History

I began playing the piano back in about July 1997. I enjoyed a very brief period unadulterated progress, until I started university in Feb 1998. Up till then, the most challenging pieces I had learned were Beethoven's sonata #14, Moonlight (1st movement) and Praeludium #20 of the Well-Tempered Clavier by JS Bach.

Around late 2001, I was introduced to composing by lovely young girl called Jennifer. During my first year of composing I recorded four compositions which are listed below. It was during this time that I started going to professor Alan Lane for composition lessons. Things were progressing very well, and with most of my time being spent on theory and technique I didn't get a chance to really complete any full compositions as I was learning about so many new forms of writing. After Mr Lane passed away, I wrote my first piano sonata, called Palentonia.

While I continue to play the piano, I have stopped writing until I have completed my Ph.D.
