That morning I was to give a presentation to the group there at the university. Unfortunately given my tight schedule prior to my departure from Brisbane (I was still coding 30 minutes before I left), I did not have a talk prepared. I knocked up a short presentation the morning of my talk, with the listeners waiting expectantly. The talk was short, unpractised, and without my laptop it was lacking in informational content; consequently it was not at a standard I felt was necessary for such a group. What was missing in my talk was made up throughout the day during our thoughtful discussions on a range of topics.
That night Oliver and Geoff from the uni took me out on the town. I had a decent time with the guys, but I still found myself struggling to get the local Finns to loosen up, although I did meet a few OK people. I went home early, having had enough of Jyväskylä's night life.
